James Bland Jr. is the heart and backbone of A Bland Delta Farm, bringing decades of knowledge, leadership, and dedication to the land he loves. A proud graduate of Mississippi State University (Class of 1984), James began his farming career the very next year in 1985, driven by a vision to build a lasting agricultural legacy in the Mississippi Delta.

Over the years, James has guided the family operation with steady hands and a forward-thinking spirit. He played a pivotal role in expanding the farm’s crops and was the first to introduce rice production to the family’s fields — a decision that helped shape A Bland Delta Farm into the diverse, thriving operation it is today.

Under his leadership, the farm has grown from humble beginnings into a multi-generational enterprise spanning more than 2,000 acres. Known for his faith, integrity, and deep respect for the land, James continues to inspire those around him — reminding everyone that true farming is about more than yields; it’s about legacy, stewardship, and community.
