Juneteenth Festival - Day One

$40.00

Kick off an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Mississippi Delta as we begin our Friday Farm Tour at A Bland Delta Farm in Tunica, Mississippi. Here, guests will get an up-close look at large-scale row crop production, including rice, soybeans, and corn. You’ll also gain insight into modern irrigation systems and hear powerful, untold stories of agriculture through the lens of African American farmers stories rooted in resilience, innovation, and legacy.

From there, we’ll travel south to visit a one-of-a-kind produce operation dedicated to feeding the community. This stop highlights the importance of sustainability, efficiency, and long-term agricultural practices, offering a glimpse into how local farming can directly impact food access and community health.

Next, we pause for a powerful historical moment in Jonestown, Mississippi. This experience will walk you through the rise, fall, and resurgence of Black farmers in the Delta. Through storytelling and reflection, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced and the triumphs achieved honoring a legacy that continues to shape agriculture today.

To close out the day, we’ll head to our final stop: a unique, family owned, Black-owned winery. Here, guests will experience the beauty of winemaking, entrepreneurship, and heritage all coming together to create a truly memorable conclusion to Friday’s tour.

Join us for a day filled with education, culture, history, and inspiration as we explore the richness of Delta agriculture and the stories that make it unforgettable.
